Meet Sophie B, Amethyst Equine Founder

& Explorer In Holistic Horse Therapies

Since she was a kid, Sophie has had a liking for all things animal and the natural world. She took every opportunity to hang out with critters of all types and sizes but the true revelation and love for equines developed when she got to ride quarter horse Pinky in the rolling foothills of Wyoming.

Fast forward to the present day, after a career as a tour guide in Banff National Park, Sophie decided to explore her true calling: she had to find a way to give some love and care back to equines.

Sophie's professional equine endeavours started in 2021 when she completed her Equinology Equine Craniosacral level 1. Enthused by this journey, she took the Masterson Method introductory course in 2022 as well as her level 2 in Equine Craniosacral Therapy.

In 2023 Sophie ventured into the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Equinology's level 1 in Equine And Canine Acupressure, followed by the level 2 certification early 2024.

Mid 2024, she took Equinology's 9-day extremely thorough “Equine massage and bodywork course” which will be followed by an externship before certification.

Never tired of learning, Sophie has signed up for an Equine Myofascial Course at the end of 2024 and is already looking at taking a Nerve Release course and an Equine neurology course in the future.

In 2025 and 2026, she is projecting to get certified in Equine Craniosacral Levels 3 and 4, before her avid mind finds additional subjects to look at!

Our Specializations

Offerings

Craniosacral Therapy:
A branch of osteopathy, craniosacral therapy is an alternative, noninvasive modality that helps gently rebalance the nervous system, alleviating symptoms and especially pain.

My work invites the animals' body to find a point of balance and ease.

Shiatsu - Acupressure:
A branch of Chinese Medicine, acupressure is a hands-on alternative therapy, and shiatsu is a Japanese word that means “finger pressure”.  They are used as a complement to conventional medicine and as a preventative modality. The practice of shiatsu is based on the traditional Chinese concept of Qi ("Chi"), which is described as an "energy flow".

My work invites the energy to flow better in the animals' body.
